SAWMILL MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success: - Design and engineering of new products and custom design projects -High degree of mechanical aptitude -Training and/or experience in mechanical drive systems -Hands on approach to completing work -Strong problem-solving skills -Self-motivated and a self-starter capable of working independently -Composure under pressure with the ability to present a constructive attitude when faced with adversity - Ability to manage multiple projects -Technical design and documentation - Ability to manage and guide mechanical designers Technical Skills Requirement: -Product knowledge -Manufacturing process knowledge -Machining, forming, welding, fabrication and assembly -Structural steel design and fabrication -Equipment knowledge -CAD skills in Autocad 2D and Inventor (3 years experience required) -Business systems software ï¿½ Epicor experience required -Office systems software ï¿½ Excel, Word, Outlook Responsibilites: -Take an active hands on engineering approach to designing and overseeing the manufacturing, assembly and fulfillment of equipment orders -Translate customer needs into realistic manufacturing processes. -Detail and update equipment models/drawings accurately. -Communicate with customers to develop technical drawings when needed. -Use full capabilities of Autocad/Inventor for generating accurate Bill of Materials for accounting, purchasing and manufacturing planning. -Research components and verify that they meet project specifications -Work with purchasing to ensure that components are specified correctly and ordered within appropriate time frame -Review the work of other mechanical designers to ensure that system design conforms to specifications -Use modeling software to create illustrations and animations to assist in highlighting equipment features. -Must continuously ensure the highest quality of work performed. Attention to detail is a must! -Perform tasks in a timely and efficient manner. -Work with production in order to maintain shipping schedules -Interface with customers during final inspection -Strive to work as a team member to accomplish all tasks. -Professionally represent the 51 year old Cooper Machine brand Successful candidate must pass a drug screen and background check.
