Lead Process Mechanical Designer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Lead Designer to join our Midwest Team for an individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional work in developing mechanical designs in Revit, AutoCAD, and CadWorx. You will work directly with junior designers and engineers on multi-discipline designs for facilities primarily serving municipal and private sector wastewater industries. Project work includes: development and review of P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment layouts, design of process piping and utility systems, development of contract drawings.
Use 2D, 3D and BIM design tools to develop mechanical systems on projects for municipal and private industrial clients
Direct and coach a group of drafters in their development of P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment layouts, design of process piping and utility systems.
Prepare equipment and piping layouts from conceptual information to final construction documents
Coordination of multidiscipline models and the ability to develop plans and sections across disciplines
Identify and effectively coordinate design and model changes with other disciplines
Desired Skills and Experience:
10-20 years of experience in consulting engineering preferred, experience in process and piping design a plus.
Experience in 3D modeling, drawing production and associated workflows.
Experience using REVIT is a must.
Experience with AutoCAD required
Experience in CADWorx is desired
Enthusiastic and self-motivated
Able to work independently
Willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills required (written and verbal)
Candidate should be a self-starter, organized, and results-oriented and be able to work under tight and pressured deadlines
