CADD Designer/ Lead

As a CADD Designer/ Lead in our Aerospace & Defense division, you will not only play a part in creating products that impact lives, but also provide value and solutions for the Aerospace & Defense industries. In this role you will design & develop filtration products that will improve the air quality for a variety of aerospace and defense projects. Our team supports major vehicle platforms such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Bell V-22 Osprey, and the Oshkosh JLTV Humvee replacement.
Develops design drawings to fulfill technical objectives consistent with established guidelines, customer requirements and design specifications.
Provides input to alternative product and system designs as required.
Reviews design alternatives as applied to product systems, products or parts development and provides input to design changes which meet production capabilities at favorable costs.
Participates in all phases of product pre-design through fabrication, including manufacturing processes.
Initiates Engineering Change Orders per Engineering Change Order Procedures.
Communicates technical designs through drawings, specifications and other related documents to manufacturing, purchasing, vendors and customers for appropriate implementation.
Prepares or assists in preparation of product instruction manuals, design guides and engineering standards, as required.
Takes on leadership initiatives on behalf of the A&D design group including process improvements, documentation of best practices, and resource capacity estimation, as required.
Management of direct reports and delegation of design team workload.
Identifying and building on team strengths, including coaching, mentoring, and development.
Associate's Degree with an emphasis on Design/Drafting
At least 5 years of experience in CADD design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industries a plus
Thorough working knowledge of Siemens NX CADD software programs and Siemens Teamcenter PLM system.
Knowledge of sources for component parts used in development.
Thorough understanding of industry accepted design standards.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes (ex: casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, welding).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
