The Graphic Design position is responsible for managing assigned design projects from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate will create and manage digital and print designs for Apple Bank’s marketing initiatives. The responsibilities of this position will include managing all graphic design tasks, development of creative briefs, and generating creative ideas. Extensive knowledge of graphic design, styles and techniques and experience implementing marketing campaigns. This candidate will promote the vision of the company through high-quality engaging and on-brand graphic content for a variety of media.

Areas of primary responsibility include branch merchandising, portable merchandising, ancillary branch signage, marketing and promotional collateral, direct mail, out of home advertising, digital and print advertising.

Other areas this role will contribute to include journal and sponsorship advertising, digital in-branch screens, email marketing, event exhibits and internal presentations. Experience with photography, digital media, video graphics and production is required. The individual in this position must be highly skilled in understanding, visualizing and marrying the bank’s brand and value proposition to compelling and memorable graphic design that successfully positions Apple Bank’s points of differentiation and targets varied audiences across all relevant channels. The ideal candidate will have graphic design experience in financial services, an advertising agency, an organization with retail outlets (“stores”), or a combination, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates visually appealing and targeted graphics that connect with audiences while achieving brand consistency. An understanding of financial products and services is highly desirable. This individual will be responsible for helping to create and manage the bank’s brand standards manual for channels and outlets across the bank. The individual must be experienced in working with outside agencies and numerous other internal and external resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Work with the Marketing Content Manager and other Marketing team members to define requirements and conceptualize visuals based on marketing strategy, channel, product, service, and customer experience and target audience.

Prepare rough drafts and present ideas for review, following brand standards and using the appropriate logos, colors, fonts and layouts for each graphic.

Create images, illustrations, photos and layouts for review and approval by hand or using design software, and amend designs after receiving feedback.

Test graphics across multimedia and channels and ensure final graphics are visually appealing, targeted and on brand.

Create in-branch merchandising planograms for branches and create the graphic design for posters, flyers, buckslips and ancillary signage, and fulfill branch requests for customized materials and journal ads, working with the Marketing Brand Manager and the Content Manager.

Create the graphic design for in-branch digital screens, working with the selected vendor and Marketing team members.

Create print and digital ads and out of home ads that successfully promote the Apple Bank brand, product or service to inspire target audiences to do business with the bank.

Work closely with the Digital Marketing team and outside agency to create compelling graphics for the Apple Bank and Aviation Financing websites, email marketing templates, social media channels and other digital outlets.

Create graphic designs for branch exhibits at key community events.

Create graphics for PowerPoint presentations and provide other assistance as requested by the Director of Marketing, Director of Digital Banking and Head of Consumer Banking.

Utilize highly creative and differentiated visuals across channels while achieving brand consistency.

Work closely with the Director of Marketing, Brand Marketing Manager and Content Manager to produce final designs for review and approval.

Working with other Marketing team members, use knowledge of videography to create short videos internally or work with outside resources to produce videos for the bank’s website, social media and other digital outlets.

Take photographs at major bank events and use photography skills as needed for special projects.

Demonstrate excellence in communications and project management skills and the ability to multi-task and meet ongoing deadlines.

As part of the rebranding initiative, work with Director of Marketing and Brand Marketing Manager to produce a Brand Standards Manual for reference and use, bank wide.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in either Creative Design, Fine Arts or related field.

Must be willing to learn new programs as needed.

Must have at 2-4 years of proven graphic designing experience with a financial services company, marketing or advertising agency, or organization with retail stores, or a combination.

Must demonstrate experience with a strong portfolio of outstanding graphics that creatively display the brand and inspire the target audience.

Have broad and deep experience using design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Photoshop).

Experience with photography and video production is required.

An understanding of financial products and services is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Demonstrated keen eye for aesthetics and details.

Must possess creative flair with the ability to translate requirements into design and marry the design to the message.

Excellent communication and project management skills.

Ability to work methodically, multi-task and meet ongoing deadlines.

Must be able to work successfully with a team, accept constructive feedback and amend designs as needed.
