Jacobs is looking for an Installer/CD&D personnel at Culpepper, VA location.
The candidate must have experience in all facets of network and infrastructure documentation, which includes the physical documenting of CAT5 and fiber optic cabling, network device hardware, racks and rack elevations. Ability to understand and decipher network diagrams, build run lists and create network blueprints. Also includes but not limited to: surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring equipment chase, network racks, patch panels, etc., testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc.
Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance Typically requires an Associate degree in a computer field and seven (7) years of related experience. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement.
Experience in cable installation and cable types (Copper, Fiber) Experience with network hardware and connections (SFP’s, etc) Experience with AutoCad, Visio and Visionael Experience with MS Excel Experience in circuit design and documentation Experience with single mode and multi-mode cable preferred HS diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate degree in Engineering Technology or RCDD is a plus. Candidate must be PC literate and should have experience in word processing and use of spreadsheet software packages. Driving a company car may be required; applicants must be able to provide proof of a valid driver's license and insurance.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and climb ladders. Must be able to trace cable under raised floors, and above drop ceilings. Work Environment: General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Wiring closets, data centers, crawl spaces, and offices.
Equipment and Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance: Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40 hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
