Job Description

LOOKING FOR: 

A mission-driven, journeyman engineer with the ability to obtain a secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Simulations and Systems team as a Journeyman Marine Mechanical Engineer  in Washington DC. Candidate will support the United States Coast Guard Ship Design Team at USCG Headquarters.

As a Journeyman Marine Mechanical Engineer you will:

Work within the Simulation & Services Division team and provide marine engineering expertise

A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Mechanical Engineer:

Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems.

Review third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems

Assist with performing design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical uses and managing information generated through design and construction phase

Assist with marine engineering analysis related to vessels

Help team to create graphical representations of structures

Inspect equipment or systems

Research advanced engineering designs or applications

Support in preparation of technical reports for internal use

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

At least 3 to 10 years of experience in:

Mechanical engineering with a focus on marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, fluids and hydraulics)

Working with Microsoft office suite

experience with AutoCAD and other design software
