Position Summary Reporting to a Senior or Lead Designer,Engineer, or Department Manager, this individual will have responsibility forengineering level design for fire protection systems for all types of buildingdesign projects including commercial, industrial, government, mission critical,and more. Must be organized, efficient and work well with in a teamenvironment. Good computer skills are necessary for this position. Specifying design criteria for various building occupancies and hazards. Design & layout of fire protection sprinkler systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, preaction, and deluge systems. Developing project specifications, including sequences of operation. Understand and perform hydraulic calculations. Familiarity with sprinkler characteristics, including spacing requirements and spray obstruction criteria. Meet with Clients to determine needs and standards. Participate in project meetings and design reviews Qualifications Working knowledge of relevant NFPA standards including but not limited to NFPA 10, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 24 Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office products Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time Interface and coordination with other disciplines; architecture\/interiors, site, structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical\u00a0 Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Revit\/Revit MEP Review of fire alarm shop drawings and related submittals Field survey of fire sprinkler\/fire pump installations Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain individual schedule and completion dates Ability to read and understand insurance, fire and building codes\/standards, plans, specifications, and technical business documents Advanced education preferred At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges. He has 35 years of experience in the exhibition, marketing and distribution of American independent and international cinema in the U.S. He is perhaps best known as the founding film buyer for the Angelika Film Center in New York City which under his supervision (from opening day in 1989 until 1997) became the highest grossing art cinema in the country. He was the Managing Director and Film Buyer of the Paris Theatre from 1998 to 2009. At present, he programs over 50 movie theatre screens across the country.
