The Fabletics J r. Graphic Designer will be part of the Creative Team within the marketing department and will report to the Associate Art Director. This role is responsible for the creation of print and digital production mechanicals and the execution of prepress and some post production functions, partnering with the Creative Services department with the development of in-house assets, layout, and production. This role partners in facilitating workflow, fulfilling print layouts as they pertain to our highly visible lookbooks, elevated pages, newsletters, promotions, site assets and print catalog production material with quality and accuracy. These assets drive the imagery of the brand and compel current and new customers to purchase with us. The Fabletics Jr. Graphic Designer will partner with the creative team on asset organization and management, project timelines, and deliverable deadlines.
This position will report to the Associate Art Director.
Execute accurate lookbooks, elevated pages, newsletters, promotions, site assets and print catalog production and collateral mechanicals as needed and on a daily and timely basis
Maintain quality control by checking and verifying all mechanicals against specifications and guidelines for accuracy before submitting for routing and ensuring that all information in mechanicals is correct
Traffic images in retouching and communicate with internal and external retouchers on feedback and timelines
Manage all rounds of incoming files from retouching, keeping an organized folder structure on the server and communicating file paths to creative team
Flag low resolution images and other errors, always checking integrity of files
Collaborate with creative team to ensure best cropping and positioning of mechanical elements and to use reference files, guidelines, specifications and templates whenever possible for creating mechanicals
Generate several size and format options and layout templates pertaining to design elements
Verify and maintain all incoming files for use in mechanicals; and assist in maintenance of reference files such as baselines, guidelines and templates
Adhere to brand guidelines and assure consistency across all creative assets
Communicate with Project Manager regarding deadlines and other specifications
Assist retouchers with presentation work on an as needed basis
Stay on top of trends in the design, photography, health and active wear world
Must have 1-2 years experience as a Production Artist or Graphic Designer with strong production skills in an agency, production company, fashion brand or retail company
Fashion experience is a plus
Must have expert knowledge of typography, layout compositions, and graphic design principles
Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Must be self-managed, self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, extremely organized and a team player
Extensive knowledge of best practices for both web and pre-press print execution is a plus
Online user interface experience, including mobile is a plus
Must have demonstrated ability with regard to multi-tasking, prioritizing projects, and working into tight deadlines
Must have a full understanding of creative and digital retouching processes
Must work collaboratively and constructively on each project with others on the team including Project Manager, etc.
Candidate must be a proven facilitator of information, with exceptional follow up skills and a keen sense of urgency
