Currently, Orbital Engineering, Inc. is providing Engineering, Risk Mitigation, and Project Delivery Services for a variety of customers in the following industries: EnergyChemical & ManufacturingMining & MetalsInfrastructureOil and GasOrbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer with experience working under the direction of more experienced individuals to work in our Hammond office. Successful candidates will have experience in industrial electrical design, such as medium and low voltage power distribution, substation design, power generation, motor controls, lighting and grounding. The primary activities for this position include: Assist engineers and senior designers in the design, drafting and development of electrical power systems, substations, power generation, motor controls, lighting and grounding working from red line prints.Development of single line diagrams, motor schematics, PLC/IO drawings, and wiring diagrams.Development of cable/conduit routing plans, equipment layouts, and installation details.Preparation of lighting plans and illumination diagrams.Development of electrical bill of materials, cable conduit schedules and equipment lists.Perform field surveys.Design/Drafting in AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation products.Perform designs in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and client standards.Interface with other disciplines on multidiscipline projects. Qualifications: A technical trade school degree is required.2-7 years of experience. Experience in substation design is a plus.Knowledge of, and experience with AutoCAD Version 2013 or greater and Bentley Micro Station V8i CAD products required.Instrumentation and Control experience is a plus.Experience in other disciplines a plus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
