HDR Engineering is looking for a Substation CADD Technician II to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals in our Substation group in the Billings, MT office. 

Successful candidate will be a part of a team that provides CADD and technical design support for large- and small-scale engineering projects. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual who wants to learn and take on new challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Substation CADD Technician II, we'll count on you to:

Prepare substation related drawings such as plan and elevation views, control building details, grading plans, foundation details, grounding and conduit plans, control wiring schematic diagrams, and other related drawings.

Provide technical design and support for large- and small-scale engineering projects.

Train and/or guide junior CADD Technicians

Perform other duties as needed

 

','!*!Required Qualifications

High School Diploma

3 years of experience developing substation CADD layouts/designs from engineering designs.

Electrical utility or similar design experience preferred.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; added benefit if proficient in MicroStation or Inroads.

Ability to work closely with engineering staff, both local and in remote offices.

Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills preferred.

Preference given to local candidates. 

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or technical school degree, or AutoCAD or MicroStation certification, or combination of education and relevant experience.
