Examples of Duties
Guided by established engineering principals and practices, subject to review and approval of work by superior, but with some latitude for independent action and judgment, and with responsibility for the technical adequacy of the work by applying theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical engineering principals and practices to the less difficult and more routine phases of electrical engineering design work for major municipal engineering projects. Preparing plans, drawings, specifications and detailed computations related to the design of electrical engineering projects; estimating quantities and costs; checking plans submitted by contractors for accuracy and conformity to specifications and established standards; checking computations and plans developed by other engineers; preparing progress reports; supervising and checking the work of subordinates.
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from a university of recognized standing.
Recent experience in preparing designs and specifications for electrical engineering projects; experience preferred in electrical engineering field work
