NANA Regional Corporation
AIS is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. AIS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer’s mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.
Creates mechanical or electrical design using a variety of tools, including three-dimensional solid modeling software. Responsible for the creation and configuration management of detailed drawings, layouts, and illustrations. Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in a field of specialization. Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
Support GIS Lead as follows in the development and implementation of a GIS Program:
Packaging of all Facilities & Planning-related GIS data & tables
Completing inventory of all existing GIS data & planning datasets- GIS Lead will direct this effort
Preparing planning datasets (e.g. FIMS Excel files, CAIS Excel files, etc.) to be joined with existing GIS layers - To be completed by GIS Lead and Technologist
Editing GIS data including labels, attributes, & shapes
Create process maps and documentation for the new GIS Program
Gather and add metadata to existing and new GIS data
Monitor, track and update (geo)databases and GIS maps
Generate reports on status/concerns/ideas
Coordinate with SPs to make any updates to the data sets.
Comply with established processes and provide feedback on process inefficiencies, barriers and improvement opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability
Knowledge of and ability to apply GD&T, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American National Standards Institute, and other appropriate standards for dimensioning and toleranclng. Knowledge of computer-aided drafting techniques, CAD modeling and design, and high-level three• dimenslonal parametric CAD systems. Knowledge of SECOND-CAD (Systems Engineering CONceptual Design-CAD) system. Knowledge of mathematical formulas and computations. Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods. Knowledge of engineering principles and technical responsibilities within designated discipline. Knowledge of relevant Sandia National Laboratories' procedures, standards, and guides.
Creates and modifies three-dimensional models and detailed drawings using sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering. Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Gathers information, conducts studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present proposed designs; may consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts and determine requirements of detailed working drawings. Uses Geometric Dimensioning and Toleranclng (GD&T) to ensure flt form and function. Utilizes three-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) software to perform mass property calculations and tolerance and interference analyses. Reviews work orders and procedural manuals and confers with design and manufacturing staff to resolve problems and modify design. Coordinates design criteria'such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specification engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups. Examines electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances. Checks drawings versus change requests and other project input for accuracy and conformance to standards. May generate computer files of final layout design to produce layered photo masks and photo plotting design onto film. May key or program specified commands and
engineering specifications Into a computer system to change functions and test final layout.
