Applications Specialist -AutoCAD Barron Lighting Group, Inc., a manufacturer of commercial and industrial lighting products located in Glendale, AZ, is the parent company to EXITRONIX, its emergency lighting division, TRACE*LITE, its commercial and industrial lighting division, SpecialtyLED, which offers commercial and decorative LED products, and Growlite, which specializes in lighting solutions for the indoor horticultural industry. As a result of the growth we\u2019re experiencing, Barron Lighting Group has an exciting new opportunity for an applications specialist. SUMMARY This technical position is a customer-facing role responsible for designing lighting layout solutions for all Barron Lighting brands and creating submittal packages that meet or exceed customer expectations. The ability to develop and maintain relationships with all process stakeholders including customers is important, as well as the ability to communicate concepts, plans, progress reports and performance metrics. \u00b7 Create lighting layout design solutions based on customer application requirements \u00b7 Ensure customer information is complete and accurate, and goals and deliverables are clearly defined prior to initiating layout design \u00b7 Evaluate product solution options and provide alternatives if customer\u2019s product selection is not ideal solution \u00b7 Define project tasks and track resource requirements \u00b7 Communicate features and benefits of lighting layout solutions \u00b7 Create lighting submittal packages based on Barron standards and customer requirements \u00b7 Manage implementation and documentation of project design changes \u00b7 Up-sell lighting solutions where possible \u00b7 Communicate project status with sales, management and key stakeholders \u00b7 Develop and track project close rates and service metrics \u00b7 Ensure all drawings, bills of materials, analyses and support documentation are maintained and accessible for projects \u00b7 Identify project risks and develop response plans \u00b7 Recommend new products and\/or product improvements to product management based on application findings or customer requests \u00b7 Optimize lighting layout request process and data management tools TYPICAL DAILY TASKS \u00b7 Review lighting layout requests to ensure information is complete and accurate \u00b7 Read and interpret site CAD drawings \u00b7 Design lighting layout drawings with AGi32 software \u00b7 Create output drawings with supporting data for customer submittal package \u00b7 Interface with sales and customers to ensure design expectations\/ deliverables are understood and can be met \u00b7 Identify opportunities for product up-selling or improved solutions for customer\u2019s application \u00b7 Create and update project tracking\/ status, ensuring critical path tasks are on schedule \u00b7 Communicate project updates \u00b7 Compare photometric performance of different lighting fixtures (Barron solutions as well as competitive comparisons) \u00b7 Develop and maintain key metrics: project volume, lead times, close rates, etc. \u00b7 Follow-up with customer, sales and key stakeholders to ensure project timelines are met \u00b7 Support project sales efforts as needed KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Associates degree or technical drafting experience EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of AutoCad or technical drawing experience required; Sales or customer service background experience a plus; Lighting knowledge a plus \u00a0 REQUIRED SKILLS \u00b7 CAD technical drawing software \u00b7 Adobe Illustrator or equivalent \u00b7 Strong communication skills \u00b7 Customer service and selling skills \u00b7 Strong analytics, problem-solving and decision making \u00b7 Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects \u00b7 Attention to detail PREFERRED SKILLS \u00a0 \u00b7 Knowledge of AGi32 \u00b7 Knowledge of relational database such as Microsoft and MAS 500 \u00b7 Knowledge of IES standards \u00b7 Knowledge of photometric software
