Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are growing in complexity and capability. The Electrical Engineer will work as a member of an AGILE team to design next generation mobile robotics for warehouse environments. This position is detailed design focused and will need to innovate using the latest equipment and technology. Special attention to precision control and modular architecture will be needed. The vehicle hardware team develops and supports a diverse line of vehicles ranging from simple tugging vehicles to high reach high speed mobile platforms.
Hands on development and testing at the Holland, MI facility along with collaboration with an industry leading international team will be key for a successful candidate.
Development of innovative design for control and communication
Schematic development and documentation
Test plan development and support.
Supplier and component identification/selection.
Drive vendor product life cycles to meet the needs of new and innovative design
Provide support for Customer Service and issue resolution.
Work within an AGILE team environment as a senior member, defining best practices for tools, processes, components and end solution
Coordinate implementation of designs both locally and globally **Experience/Degree Required:**
Minimum 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years engineering experience.
Product or custom equipment electrical system development
Control panel design and build process **Experience/Skill Preferred:**
Design of ground up solutions based on current technology
Design and implementation of cable harnessing
Demonstrated ability to design control loop architecture
Demonstrated ability to develop control systems using CAN and ECU concepts
Knowledge of Sick safety hardware and programming
Knowledge of Curtis amplifiers
Demonstrated ability to act as a senior member of a development team
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an AGILE team.
Experience in Automation equipment, preferably automatic guided vehicles
Experience with E-Plan CAD system
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with Solidworks
Experience with AC motor controls and control logic
Understanding of UL and CE standards
Experience with PLC design/I/O systems
Experience with production documentation
Good communication with other engineering disciplines and manufacturing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Participation in standards community
Travel – Up To 10% (including International)
