Graphic Designer
Job Description
Functional title: Graphic Designer assists in the development of the
brand and policies as it concerns standards for integrated marketing projects & logo use. Specifically responsible for the consultations, strategic planning, professional graphic design & production services to departments.
Within the Communications and Marketing (CM) Division, shall exercise supervision and authority of the preparation of existing and special-use publications, under his or her project direction, direction from art directors or the creative director and the
Marketing Department.
Helps develop and oversees standards and styles of publications and ongoing printed materials. Helps manage and maintain graphic standards and fulfills unit identifier requests.
Manage and schedule projects within deadlines and budgets established by
Marketing Department.
Initiate concepts and designs for advertising marketing materials, publications and ongoing printed materials.
Works with the
Marketing department to establish
Marketing goals and sets new standards of quality for
printed pieces.
Provides professional graphic design and printing consultation with CM staff, quality control, artwork and, supervision of printed work.
Will art direct photography for special projects, publications, web and online, and social media.
Prepares design work for print and web applications.
May serve as the liaison, or point of contact, with one of the university’s colleges or part thereof. Duties include, but are not limited to, collecting information on the college or its parts, and building a partnership in the sharing of information between the assigned unit and the public affairs department.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Additional Minimum Requirements

Prefer candidate to have strong design and typography skills and proficient
in Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud.
Candidate will have the ability to manage multiple project and deadlines and
take direction from creative director and/or art directors.
Additional preferences:
Experience working at advertising or design agency
Experience working on multidisciplinary teams
Experience developing concepts and campaigns
Experience with visual identity and graphic standards
Experience designing for web, mobile/responsive web and mobile applications
Experience designing for print, publications and creating files for print
Experience art directing photography and working with photographers
Experience working with video and video production
