Unistress employs approximately 400 in Engineering, Drafting, Sales, Administration and Manufacturing/Construction. Most of the manufacturing and construction workforce is union- represented.
Unistress is headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in the Berkshire Mountains however, this role will be based out of our expanding regional office location.
JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE
The Checker will play an integral role as a member of the drafting team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; verifying the accuracy of drawings, marking required corrections, returning drawings to the drafter for corrections. This position will also have responsibility for using dimensional analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of technical structural engineered drawings.
This role will also evolve into the use and application of 3-dimensional (3D) models for our projects from concept through construction for pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete buildings and structures using the current versions of available software.
REPORTING STRUCTURE AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Checker interfaces with various internal/external partners to administer and monitor the performance of the drafting services.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
Conformance of shop drawings with contract documents and quantity takeoff.
Conformance with the engineer's calculations and company standards.
Dimensional accuracy of precast concrete elements and conformance with the erection drawings.
Accuracy of fit between panel geometry, reinforcement and hardware.
Accuracy of bill of materials.
Consistency of drawing presentation with production methods.
Ensures that all documents are electronically and physically filed in compliance with Company and contractual or regulatory policies and practice.
Other duties as needed and assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with 3 years related precast concrete experience. Degree in Civil Engineering and AutoCAD experience would be a significant competitive advantage as would 3D modeling experience.
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and other applicable tools.
