Applies broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area. Independently evaluates selects and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields with the ability to function on multi-disciplined teams. Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
Activities may be non-routine and require knowledge of specialized technologies and techniques to accomplish goals and objectives. Generally involves independent judgment and analysis of significant issue identification and resolution. Position requires a low degree of management attention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing electrical designs for multiple mobile power generation (diesel engine driven)products.
In developing designs, the EE will evaluate and select alternators, evaluate and select digital and analog generator controllers, and design user and machine controls to include component evaluation and selection and layout to meet customer requirements.
The EE is responsible for documenting work in schematic and wiring diagrams, bills of material, test procedures and tech manuals.
The EE will also design integrated power generation systems (smart grids) that may include power storage and renewable power sources like solar.
The Electrical Engineer will interface with other organizational elements to lead development of future product plans, the development of bids and proposals and customer training.
The EE will provide thought leadership in emerging power related technologies.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility listed above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
* MS Electrical Engineering
* 3-5 years of experience in power generation and controls design
* Proficiency in AutoCAD
OTHER JOB-RELATED SKILLS:
* Understanding of EMI mitigation techniques
* Experience with alternative/renewable energy technologies
* Experience with ERP systems and bills of material creation
* PLC programming experience
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Experience with military standards and products is desired
* PE License and/or specialized training is desired
