Now Hiring: Jr. AUTOCAD DRAFTER Candidate will be a Jr Designer for an Engineer of Choice firm working in the Baltimore and D.C. utility markets. This drafter will be supporting either their gas or electric support teams (no prerequisites for either team). Candidates will be working in the field to identify, draft, and review existing utility lines and work with Engineers and Designers to create design packages for clients. Candidate will also work with client interface for the design review process and well as with internal design teams. Candidates will be working with both AutoCAD and Microstation software, and may be asked to learn other proprietary software's as necessary. TRAINING: This candidate will undergo 6 month training program to establish professional habits and develop valuable drafting skills that can be then utilized in a variety of engineering and drafting fields. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSES THE FOLLOWING 0 - 2 years of experience in utility drafting or design; or equivalent degree\/certification Experience with AutoCAD or GIS system software, either educational or professional Customer service skills and an eagerness to learn! Willing to go into the field 30% of the time **Candidates will need to take a basic AutoCAD Assessment during the interview process ** MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION % Job Breakdown 70% - drafting and designing gas\/electric distribution lines within Autocad\/Microstation software 25% - interacting in the field with various customers, taking progress photos, measurements, etc. 5% - weekly production meetings with internal design team Best Candidates The best candidates for this program are students or new professionals that are eager to jump into the work force and gain real world experience in AutoCAD Drafting, within one of the more stable industries in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
