AutoCad Designer/Detailer

We are working with an OEM here in the Dayton area that is seeking to add a Designer/Detailer to their staff due to increased business!

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Designer-Detailer performs drafting functions for development of new and existing Capital Equipment products using AutoCAD software.

He/she may also be required to draft as-built equipment and to update Bills of Material (BOM).

Candidates should be proficient preparing mechanical drawings, layout drawings, and parts/materials lists.

Must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and detail special machinery to specific design constraints

Generate 3D and 2D prints for manufacturing and assembly

Determine proper sizing and specifications of mechanical components for design

Assists designers and engineers with shop and field modifications of equipment and “As Built” mark-ups.

Requirements:

Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent and 2-5 years drafting experience in industrial design, or No degree with 8 years of relevant drafting experience.

Special Machinery/Capital equipment design experience required.

Proficient in design/drafting using AutoCAD

Solidworks experience is a plus.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite product
