Essential Functions: Assistingengineers and shop personnel in analyzing problems and making suggestions as toproper corrective actions. Makedecisions as to the proper methods and tools to be used in the fabricationand\/or repair of tooling and fixtures. Theproper use of tool geometry, precision measurement techniques and blue printreading in fabricating and\/or repairing tooling and fixtures. Workfromplex drawings and specifications independently. Safeuse and proper care of standard tool room equipment, (i.e. lathes, surfacegrinders, milling machines, etc) Abilityto work with Mfg. Engineers & operators to identify problems & makermendations on how to make changes for improvement or design new fixturesto improve operations. Workingknowledge of shop math, blueprint reading, GD & T, calipers, gages, andvarious mechanical operations to ensure product specifications. Employeemust follow all safety rules, report all accidents or unsafe conditions tosupervision immediately, and wear all required personal protective equipment(PPE). Knowledgeof Lean principles Demonstratedability of writing programs for horizontal machining centers and \/ or turningmachines CMMprogramming experience Cuttingtool knowledge Position Criteria: Abilityto read, analyze, and interpret technical information i.e. drawings, CMMreports, engineering standards, JIP sheets, etc. Abilityto troubleshoot problems with run out, flatness, parallelism, and holepositioning is a must. Abilityto apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions topractical situations. Demonstratedability to use precision measurement equipment (calipers, height gages,micrometers, profilometer, roundness gages, plug gages, air gages, dial depthgages, etc.) Operationof personalputer including Microsoft Office programs including Excel,Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Previousexperience with AutoCAD, CADKey, ProE, or other drafting package. Previousexperience with MasterCAM, Esprit, or other CAM software preferred.
