This is a 6 month contract position, could go longer. Pay is $25hr Candidate must have the following: - Experience with Siemens NX - Experience with AutoCAD Summary: Candidate will be responsible for drawing development for Naval Vessels in the Hull, Mechanical, and/or Electrical disciplines. Candidate will develop 2D drawings in Siemens NX from the 3d product model. Basic Qualifications : Must have marine/naval progressive design experience in the naval ship design field within the last (5) years involving design and working plan development for construction conversion, modernization or alteration of U.S. Naval Ships in the area of electrical, lighting, power, or IC design. Must have 2-D and 3-D CAD experience within the last year. Must have AutoCAD experience within the last year. Must be able to obtain an active DoD security clearance. Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments. Education/Experience: AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 year related experience. HS 3 years related experience may be substituted for AA degree Full knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments. May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Drafting table and associated drawing tools. CAD workstation, Plotter, Copier, Printer, File Server. Portable computers. Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances during site surveys. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift. Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a lap top computer. Normal office work environment. Occasional ship/site checks. Typical electrical hazards associated with automated equipment. Eye and skin irritation from inks and other agents. Duties & tasks are varied and moderately complex. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers complex questions to higher levels. Errors may be difficult to detect and would normally result in loss of customer business, material, or equipment to resolve. Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature. Thanks
