Mechanical Engineer (Kent, Ohio)\u00a0\r
Our client, located in Kent, Ohio is currently hiring three Mechanical Engineers that will be responsible for trailer design, development and continuous improvement of existing and future products. \u00a0These positions are Contract to Hire.\r
Design, model and create assemblies using Solid Edge CAD software\r
Issue drawings, specifications and BOM parts list\r
Engineering support for all internal departments, outside sales and customers\r
New product development plans and cost saving initiatives\r
Increase product quality through efficient and creative utilization of company resources\r
Ability to interpret customer needs and provide information within set deadlines\r
Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional and Windows 7 Professional\r
Strong Communication skills and effectively communicate with co-workers\r
Attention to detail, accuracy and precision\r
BSME Degree preferred, or Associate Degree in mechanical design with proven relevant experience\r
5 years minimum applicable experience preferred in developing custom engineered product and manufacturing heavy equipment for on and off-road use\r
Strong knowledge of 3D CAD sheet metal modeling and layout; SolidEdge or Solidworks a plus\r
Be competent in completing detailed assemblies and parts in SolidWorks, \u00a0and performing structural analysis of beams, design pressure vessels and perform simple moment, bending, and shear calculations\r
Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and CFRs a strong plus\r
Hands-on knowledge of welding, fabricating, and assembly processes\r
Expert working knowledge of MRP systems required\r
Expert working knowledge of multilevel BOM creation and sheet metal design and dimensioning with ASME Y14.5M desired\r
Ability to resolve basic engineering calculations\r
Experience in AIAG tools and/or APQP process a plus\r
Demonstrated record of achievement in VA/VE programs a plus\r
