Perform duties to prepare a variety of detail drawings and 3-dimensional models using computer aided drafting (CAD) equipment. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation records such as source drawings, mechanical drawings, product specifications within the limits of standard or accepted practice. Use internal document management software to organize and store production computer files.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Breakdown information obtained from specifications, layout drawings and instructions furnished by engineers or available technical literature. Perform any measurements to establish or verify dimensions and specifications if necessary.2. Prepare assembly and detail drawings showing all necessary details, section views, specifications and dimensions following standard CAD techniques and rules while maintaining established Turck specifications and procedures.3. Work in both metric and standard (inch) units of measurement.4. Prepare 3-dimensional product models using a recognized parametric modeling system.5. Submit completed drawings to technical documentation for checking and make any required revisions.6. Prepare artwork drawings and pictorial renditions when requested for literature. 7. Organize drawings on the CAD system, making and filing copies for future requests. Prepare any additional required engineering documentation and maintain up to date records in documentation files.8. Generate Engineering Change Orders. Update and revise drawings as needed or requested following established procedures.9. Fulfill customer requests for CAD files or related artwork.
The candidate should have an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent and 1 year of hands-on experience with a mechanical CAD system. In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD (latest version) is required. Some experience with a recognized parametric modeling system is required, SolidWorks is preferred. Applied knowledge of drawing management practice is also preferred.
