Position Summary In this role, the Structural (Bridge) EIT will assist Engineers by performing the routine aspects of structural engineering assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company. The Structural (Bridge) EIT will work on a variety of projects pertaining to transportation projects. Under close and frequent supervision, incumbent assists Engineers byperforming the routine aspects of civil\/structural engineering assignments,subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating proceduresof the company. Work expectations: Performs civil\/structural design calculationsfor wood, concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures, to includebridges and transportation related projects. Also performs sketches, technicalcomparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment. Coordinates project assignments with those ofother engineers and technicians in his\/her discipline group. Reviews drawings supplied by vendors,clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes Researches code issues and works with City,State, and County officials. Researches design options and documentsfindings\u00a0 Assists with other duties assigned by ProjectEngineers and\/or Project Managers. May attend kick-off and design reviewmeetings, and interacts with clients as his or her level of experienceprogresses Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering is required Masters of Structural Engineering is preferred \u00a0GPA of 3.0 is required Should have an EIT certification, or have the ability to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within six months of hire. Jeffrey Jacobs is President of Jacobs Entertainment Inc, a film buying and marketing firm. He has 35 years of experience in the exhibition, marketing and distribution of American independent and international cinema in the U.S. He is perhaps best known as the founding film buyer for the Angelika Film Center in New York City which under his supervision (from opening day in 1989 until 1997) became the highest grossing art cinema in the country. He was the Managing Director and Film Buyer of the Paris Theatre from 1998 to 2009. At present, he programs over 50 movie theatre screens across the country.
