Controls Design EngineerResponsible for researching, planning and designing electrical control systems associated with food processing equipment and\/or control system installations. Coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, applications, installation, and repair of electrical systems.Programming responsibilities to include, but not limited to, the development, installation, and maintenance of software systems on customer sites such as operating systems, development software, and communications programming.Consistently and accurately follow standard work procedures, policies, etc.Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.Involved in process control software development to include but no limited to, programmable logic controllers (PLC) self-contained HMI unites and full HMI systems.This includes all software and\/or systems to be used on Brown OEM equipment. Involved in the design and installation of software, stand along and\/or networked PLC\/PC systems to be used in a process control system at a customer site, to include that installation of all software and\/or systems Performs scheduled and emergency repairs and\/or maintenance of software system and PC networks at customer site to include basic knowledge of instrument assemblies such as pressure and temperature transmitter, flow meters, process and control valves, I\/P converters and pneumatic assemblies. Updates manager of current service status by the means of service reports, project schedules and maintenance tracking system.Keep Manager aware of any customer activities that could hinder the normal operation of any system.Developer must have the ability to create very detailed system scope and operational documents. Involved in process control software development to include but not limited to programmable logic controllers (i.e. Allen Bradley, GeFanuc, Wago and Siemens) self-contained HMI units, and full HMI systems.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent. Degree or certification preferred.Minimum of 3 years of job related training\/experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.Intermediate level experience with AutoCADKnowledge of Control Panel Design and Configuration including: HMI systems, VFD systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens), Remote I\/O, and Standalone OEM Machine Controls (desired)Experience with Power Distribution Design (desired)Knowledge of Network Design and Configuration (desired)Experience with VFD systems Design and Configuration (desired)Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems Design (desired)Experience with Process Instrumentation design (desired)Knowledge of Process and Flow Diagrams (desired)Experience with PLC Programming (desired)Knowledge of HMI Design and Programming (desired)Database knowledge including: Wonderware Historian, Wonderware HMI Reports, SQL Server Configuration, and SQL Queries (desired)Experience with Windows Operating Systems Configuration and Maintenance including: Windows XP-Pro, Windows 7 Pro, and Windows Server 2008 or later (desired)Must have design and layout experience but needs to be rounded through the process.
