Description: MFC is seeking a candidate for an entry-level graphic design position on the Visual Communications team in Orlando, Fla. Reporting to the manager of visual communications, this position will be responsible for creating compelling, story-driven visuals for internal and external publishing platforms. The selected candidate will work with a communications team to support several programs under a line of business. At times the candidate will work in collaboration with other disciplines of communications and functional and lines of business clients on business area initiatives. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements; conceive and translate concepts, messages and stories into engaging visuals and generate story-driven creative solutions across existing and emerging visual communications mediums including presentations, advertising, tradeshows, digital media (web, social media, interactives, animations) and videos.Responsibilities:Work closely with Communications representatives and executives to develop executive-level presentations. Candidate will be expected to learn the business and understand technical program content. They will combine that knowledge with key program messages to transform ideas and messages into high-quality visuals using Microsoft PowerPoint as the final delivery medium.Collaborate with stakeholders to help shape requirements and produce creative treatments to generate story-driven creative solutions across existing and emerging visual communications mediums that reflect project vision and engage end-users.Coordinate and lead elements of visual communications functionality (creative/technical) from planning through delivery, which includes clarifying business objectives/requirements, defining project scope, dimension, value, and timeline as well as ensuring alignment with initiatives and adherence to Lockheed Martin standards/guidelines.Translate facts and features of subject material into visual media that best conveys intended meaning and tell a compelling story and develop interpretive themes to convey ideas and information. Create graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint and similar visual impressions.Execute projects from concept through delivery as part of a team and/or independently.Be responsible for or provide input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors (pre-press knowledge and coordination is desired).Determine the best applications for the assigned task, properly prepare artwork for use in the final format and adapt as needed to the changing landscape of visual communication technology by researching the latest trends and techniques in graphic design, interactive media, visual media and web design.The selected candidate will be expected to expand their skillset within and across visual communication job families and develop solutions for technical issues to increase team agility.Candidate will be required to provide portfolio of work. Candidate may be expected to travel and work overtime as needed. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (secret clearance level will be required).Desired Skills: Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry products and customers (AMD, Tactical Missiles, Fire Control, etc.) and commercial lines of business (Energy)Skills in other visual communications job families are desired: web design, interactive media and visual media (photography and videography)Familiarity with: •Adobe AEM and Drupal CMSs •SharePoint 2013 •HTML5 •CSS3 •Google Analytics •Adobe Edge •3D modeling and animation (e.g., 3DS Max, Maya, Unreal) •After Effects •Premiere •Final Cut Pro •DSLR cameras•High-speed cameras Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited university in a related disciplineAbility to obtain a security clearanceCandidate must exhibit excellent artistic and graphic-design skills to create high-end conceptual art on-the-fly for use in digital and print media and executive-level presentationsCandidate must be a creative team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a positive attitudeCandidate must be proactive, be willing to take direction and be willing to respond with a sense of urgencyCandidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple deadlines and work effectively and collaboratively across organizational boundariesExhibit knowledge and skill in Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)Knowledge of and skill with the PC and/or Mac platform (both are desired) and with scanning software and hardware Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
