TSR has an opening for a Mechanical Designer at an industrial facility near Buffalo, NY. This is a long term, indefinite contract position with with one of the largest EPC firms in the country.
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating detailed part and assembly drawings including all relevant dimensions, and tolerances. In addition, there will be responsibility for capturing engineering details and generating related documentation necessary to manufacture and support products. Duties are performed with minimum technical supervision and involve consideration, latitude, and discretion in developing work techniques and methods.
Creates 2-D models, depicts relationships of component and parts; identifies dimensions, angles curvatures, tolerances and materials.
Works with the engineering team to create designs from written and verbal input.
Completes detailed designs by interpreting general designs prepared by others.
Drafts and prepares detail drawings of complex, original designs working with engineers and technicians.
Creates Bill of Materials (BOMs) and maintains product data integrity by uploading all files into Share Point (Document Control Network System) and verify accuracy.
Produces high quality drawings and documentation that meet industry standards and company requirements.
Produce General Arrangement/Plan layouts.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have mechanical equipment design experience using MicroStation or AutoCAD for 2-D design applications.
Must have experience creating detailed drawings and assembly drawings including proficiency in the application of ASME standards for manufacturing drawings.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work duties and follow through on actions items.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well at all levels.
Ability to work well in a team environment is a must.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects at any given time.
Good verbal and listening skills.
2 years Associate Degree in technical field, or equivalent
Must have 10 years’ experience in mechanical designing
Experience with AutoCAD required (Microstation is preferred)
