CAD Operator Jobs
A CAD operator will be involved in the construction and coordination process, and work with the project managers, engineers, architects and subcontractors. A CAD operator will also be involved in drafting and designing. A CAD operator should work heavily with AutoCAD in an office setting and draft and design mechanical systems and objectives. A CAD operator will work on job sites directly with job foremen, trades personnel, and superintendents to conduct field verifications and conditions. A CAD operator will mostly be involved in CAD and drafting, however there will be times when the candidate will be required to conduct field verification and conflict resolution on job sites. A CAD operator may require to draft redlines, provide design and calculation assistance, adhere to CAD procedures for layering, line types, colors, and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout, and work with detailed sketches, notes, and layouts.
A CAD operator must have a master’s degree in computer applications. The candidate should be familiar with AutoCAD, Autodesk, and Micro station. A minimum of 5 years experience is mandatory for the post of a CAD operator. A CAD operator must have understanding of 2D and 3D drafting practices. Strong communication skills as well as interpersonal skills are required.
