Structural CAD Tech

Profile

Profile:
· Uses CAD drafting and design software to produce structural design drawings buildings, parking garages, platforms, supports, bridges, and other structures. Designs will be developed from various sources such as engineer’s intent, consultation, and notes, existing drawings, and field sketches. Designs will be based on industry standards and national / local codes.
Principle Responsibilities:
· Develop structural design drawings, specifications, and details per direction of project or technical lead and identified drawing standards and formats. · Interface and coordinate with other structural designers, engineers, and disciplines to ensure that drawings are accurate.
Job Requirements :
Experience and Job Skills:
· Assist with / perform on site field data collection · Ability to take collected field data and document in a usable CAD format · Ability to write clear and concise reports · Ability to clearly communicate with others (clients, management, co-workers, etc.) · Knowledge of structural calculations and analysis is a plus. · Degree or training from a recognized CAD training facility preferred. · Minimum 2 years experience in structural designing / drafting. · Computer literate in AutoCAD 2010 or higher. · Experience with 3-D CAD software, such as Revit, is a plus. · Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Excel, Word). · Must be able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking
Education Requirements:
· Associates degree in engineering or architectural technologies preferred
